FLORA, Apayao – A New People’s Army rebel was killed in a gunfight with government troopers here June 8.
The fatality was identified as Danao Besuitan, who reportedly yielded an M16 rifle and subversive documents.
Soldiers belonging to the 17th Infantry Battalion were conducting security operations in Barangay Malayugan when they were fired at by around 20 NPA rebels.
